Tetris is one of the worst and time and time again proven overrated games of all time. It was my first game along with marble madness btw on my older siblings old gameboy. Just trash game that needs to go away.

While I don't have my original launch 3DS I still have my Ambassador certifricate and content on my current 3DS which I transferred over years ago. It's now on my limited edition Metroid Samus Returns New 3DS XL.

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town on GBA was reason enough for me to own a Wii U, before Stardew Valley came out and put even the best years of Harvest a Moon games to shame (but I still bought the Switch remake for nostalgia’s sake. So many great shmups like MUSHA on Genesis VC and Blazing Lazers on Turbografx16 VC, along with plenty of other great Turbografx16 / PC Engine games. That thing was a shmup _machine_ and I so wish there had been a Sega Saturn VC, especially the myriad Japanese bullet hell style shmups that released for it. My Switch is essentially a Stardew Valley machine now, but I still find myself coming back to the Wii and Wii U for the great Virtual Console games I purchased for them. I got to relive so many great games on Wii’s VC like Ocarina of Time and SM64 and I got to check out releases for consoles I never owned like the Turbografx16 / PC Engine on Wii and the GBA on Wii U. It was the beginning of the glory days of affordable retro gaming without having to buy a disc based arcade classics title like Namco’s or Midway’s arcade classics titles that included about 5 games you wanted and 20 that you had little to no interest in. It’s most of the reason my Wii U still gets allotted an HDMI port and my Wii is still hooked up via good old composite. Still plenty of fun to be had if you bought a lot of Wii Points cards or eShop cards and put them to good use. Like the Dreamcast, the Wii U, while being a commercial failure, is still loved with a passion by its adopters. There’s not much worth playing that didn’t get re-released on the Switch, but if you already have it on Wii U, why not keep using it? Wii U is still the best way to play Mario Maker for me, it’s how I experienced most of the GBA library and its my Shovel Knight machine!

I loved google stadia. When cyberpunk came out that was the only way I could play it. My PC couldn’t run it and I couldn’t buy a console. Stadia gave me 60 fps Cyberpunk when I never thought I’d get to experience that game. Also the stadia controller is still one of the most comfortable controllers I’ve ever used

The pokeball plus has 2 buttons and a joystick and is f*ckin awesome!

CRT mode is a must for me. Pixel perfect mode and all these high resolution options on retro games just look unnatural, blocky, and overly pixelated. On the other hand, CRT filters and 4:3 work well with the pixel design of the time, which was purposefully adapted to work well with the technological limitations of the time. So, certain games that tried to look hyper-realistic (like Final Fantasy with some of the enemy sprites, Metroid with the alien environments, Ninja Gaiden's cut scenes) actually looked less like pixels and more like cinematic, hand-drawn designs with the CRT TVs. Plus, the developers designed the sprites knowing that the CRT TVs would stretch them, so they compensated or worked with that in mind. I guess some people prefer brighter colors and whatnot because that's what modern technology tells us is better, but I would argue that it's good to let the brain take over in a few places.

I really think they should have released it with cartridges, they could have kept releasing games for it, people would have bought them. To be honest I never did buy one, but I really wanted to, I was just broke at the time. They really should have went the Evercade route though, it would have paid off, maybe one day still.

Pokken Tournament was the kinda game my cousin and I thought and wished Stadium was back on N64 when we were kids, we didn't know Stadium was just gonna be turn based battles from the games we were already playing on Gameboy. Now as grown ups we mentioned it to each other when Pokken was revealed yet we didn't care at all once the game came out.

HUGE disagree on Pac-Man and Galaga only being there because they're reconizable and not associaed with the NES. The NES's Namco arcade ports were a massive part of why it initially became successful, especially in Japan.

Good emulation on the Nes classic ? Not at all, there is a light delay between the picture and the sound, try to listen, the moment you tap the jump button in any super Mario game and the moment you ear the jump sound, but the worst is in Mega Man 2, the sound Mega Man makes when he finishes a jump, there is a blip sound and again there is a delay between the picture and sound. For someone who know very well the games it's very disturbing.
